In this photo essay assignment, I visited Devils Den State Park. While I was there, I took pictures of various textures that caught my eye and composed and edited the pictures in a compositionally pleasing way in order to create a narrative. During editing, I found that inverting the photos caused pictures that had been of one thing, suddenly appear as a completely different subject. From this discovery, I chose to approach the project as a narrative about how the natural world is one in itself, and that divides that one may draw at first glance actually provide connections to the rest of the natural world.

For this assignment, we were tasked in our design communications course to create a photoshop montage in a retro, early photoshop style. The only guideline other than that was that we had to include a photo of ourself in the composition. I chose my dog, Mimi, to be my primary subject matter, and placed my face in her eyes.
